Employment & Training Services

Employment and training services help individuals find and keep employment, and prepare for careers. The mission of the Employment and Training Services is to provide services that assist individuals in their efforts to obtain employment and improve the quality of South Central Pennsylvania’s workforce. These services provide programs and services that connect employers with skilled workers, help unemployed and underemployed individuals upgrade their skills, and provide training opportunities.

Some of the programs and services include:

  • Job Fairs and Events
  • On-the-Job Training
  • Apprenticeships
  • Skill Assessments
  • Career Counseling
  • Supportive Services

Launched in July 2012, PA CareerLink® is part of the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry’s initiative to transform the landscape of how job-seekers find family-sustaining jobs and how employers find the skilled candidates that they need. Because many of the services are federally funded, most are provided at no cost to businesses and individuals.

In South Central Pennsylvania, the Employment & Training Services (ETS) program provides a variety of services to support job seekers and employers. ETS can help individuals with résumé writing, job search skills, and interviewing techniques. The program also offers workshops on topics such as effective communication in the workplace and financial literacy. In addition, ETS provides resources for employers, including assistance with recruiting and hiring employees.

ETS is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry’s Office of Employment & Training Services. For more information about ETS in South Central Pennsylvania, visit the website or contact the nearest Job Center.
